This course is aimed to those who perform songs for a listening audience. You may have a little or no live performance experience. We work with expressions where the lyrics and communication with the audience are central. With various drama, singing and improvisation exercises, we create a safe space where everyone can explore their authentic presence on stage.
Arrangement: We work with exercises in being spontaneous, listening, taking a seat, remaining in the uncomfortable and examining our desire to be on stage and our fears of the same. We work with concrete questions such as: Why do I want to be on stage? How do I want to interpret my lyrics on stage? Who do I want to be as an artist? Everyone receives feedback on their stage performance in masterclass format. We also work individually with reflection exercises. Each course participant may set his own goal for the course, linked to the course content.
The course ends with a voluntary (but encouraged) joint concert during the Nordic Light festival weekend where you can perform one or more previous or new songs.
Previous knowledge: The course is aimed to you who perform text-based music on stage and want to work on your public performance. You don't need to have worked professionally with this.
Bring: Two prepared songs that you know by heart. Bring texts to these. Bring your own instrument if you play one. There are several pianos at the school.
